Introduction to Network NINA Membership<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Network for International Dutch Studies Asia is an institution for Dutch studies in Asia and a collaborative network of Dutch scholars in Asia.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The association bears the name Network International Dutch Studies Asia. The association is a network for Dutch studies in Asia. NINA is a dynamic network dedicated to promoting and collaborating in the field of Dutch studies and Dutch as a Foreign Language (NTL) education in Asia. Founded on May 1, 2025, NINA brings together teachers, researchers, and students engaged with the Dutch language and Dutch-language literature and culture.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We want to contribute to a flourishing and visible Dutch studies in Asia by promoting knowledge exchange, cooperation, and international visibility.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The association aims to:\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

a. the dissemination of the Dutch language, literature, and culture in the Dutch teaching departments affiliated with universities and in other language programs recognized by local universities in Asia, including China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, and in potential new partner countries in Asia and in culturally related countries outside Asia;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

b. promoting the study and teaching of Dutch language and literature (hereinafter also referred to as: Dutch studies) at institutions of academic education and research and at other recognized language programs in Asia and in the other areas referred to under a;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

c. promoting cooperation between teachers, researchers, and institutions of Dutch in the area referred to under a. and safeguarding and defending their common interests;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

d. performing all further acts that are related to the foregoing in the broadest sense or that may be conducive thereto.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

What can you expect from NINA in the future?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The association seeks to achieve its goal, among other things, by:\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

a. to convene meetings at least once every two years for all Dutch teaching positions at universities and\/or other language training programs recognized by local authorities in the area referred to in a., and to support interim national meetings that stimulate mutual contact and cooperation;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

b. to maintain a website with information about Dutch Studies and its teaching departments to improve the visibility of Dutch and the culture of Dutch-speaking areas and to support the exchange of information and materials between the teaching departments;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

c. pursuing contacts and cooperation between her teaching positions and other scientific centers, foundations, and organizations with related objectives;\n\nd. to function as a discussion partner for the Netherlands Language Union, the International Association for Dutch Studies, cultural institutions, and embassies and\/or consulates;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

e. to strive, in consultation with the Netherlands Language Union and relevant government agencies, to strengthen the position of Dutch Studies at universities and language programs.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

f. supporting the organization of summer courses, translation workshops, and refresher courses on location for students and teachers affiliated with educational institutions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

g. (supporting) the organization of exhibitions, lectures and other cultural events with the aim of making the Dutch language and Dutch culture known to a wider audience;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

h. to produce and publish teaching materials and aids for the education of Dutch studies; to encourage the production thereof in general and to cooperate therein;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

i. to continue publishing scholarly contributions in the field of Dutch studies;\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

j. other means that can contribute to the achievement of the objectives.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
